NOW As Your Reviewer

We Make Other Folk's Translations Are Done Right

My company already had someone handling its translations – BUT – we hired NOW Translations as our in-house reviewer.
It was extremely affordable, and the quality just soared.

Someone Already Handling Your Translations?
Then use NOW Translations' reviewer services to ensure they do it right.

Often when we contact a company about doing translations for them, the conversation goes like this:

Company: Oh, we already have someone doing that for us.

NOW: Do you mind if I ask who?

Company: Sure, it's (choose one) a translation company near us (or) a distributor (or) an ad agency (or) one of our overseas reps (or) our printer (or) someone in-house (etc.).

NOW: Are you happy with them?

Company: I'm pretty sure we are. I haven't heard any complaints.

NOW: Do you have a process in place to field complaints on translated materials, especially at the end-user level?

Company: Can't say that we do.

NOW: So who reviews the translations?

Company: Reviews?

NOW: Who makes sure that whoever is doing your translations is doing them right? Is delivering them on time? Is consistent from project to project?

Company: Well, I'm sure that's not necessary.

But of course, it's very necessary. NOW Translations realizes that a lot of companies simply "hope" that whoever is doing its translations will be conscientious and do them right. It's a nice hope, but it isn't very realistic.

NOW Translations Gives You Translation Piece Of Mind
Here's how it works. You send us the source (original) material to be translated along with the translations. Let the person or company doing your translations know that the translation is being reviewed by a representative for your company.

It's not necessary to review an entire document to ascertain:

A
It's an excellent product, customer ready.
B
It's almost an excellent product; there are minor errors, but they are not critical.
C
It's a good product, there are minor errors (consistency, terminology, style); these should be corrected.
D
It's a fair product, but probably wasn't edited or proofed. It may have been rushed.
F
It's a poor product. It needs to be redone from scratch.

Note that in none of the grades above do you ask NOW Translations to fix the work. That's not our job as reviewer. Our philosophy is that if you paid someone else to do the translation, then that's the person or company that needs to fix it.

How Cost Effective Is It?
Our language experts can do an overview of your translated materials to get an idea of quality pretty quickly. If it's truly awful or genuinely great, this can be ascertained and reported on in around an hour, a fraction of the time it took to originally translate. This can cover a brochure, ad, box copy, etc. If it's a longer piece (user manual, slide show, software interface, web site, etc.), then more time may be necessary. As usual, we'll give you a free proposal so you know up front what it will cost you.

Keep in mind that for grades C and D, we don't automatically assume it's the translator's fault. We say that because someone in your company may not have been communicative about what was expected, helpful with delivery of up-to-date materials, etc. We're not out to make anybody look bad or place blame. We're only out to make sure the translations you pay for are the translations that are delivered. We don't think you, as the client, would want it any other way.

What Happens When NOW Translations Is The Reviewer
We've found that whoever is doing your translations improves the quality if they know you have a reviewer. It shows that you're serious about quality and that definitely has an impact!
